Drew Ink The year

The licence

What you may do with what we draw, in the words we would use if you asked.

You promise to make or build something with it. That is the first term of every licence Drew Ink writes, and it comes before any tier and any price. It is not a question at checkout and nobody is asked to justify themselves. It is simply what we sell for.

One number decides the licence

How many people work at the company the work is for. That is the whole metric. No page views, no app downloads, no impressions, no list of use cases to match yourself against.

The licence belongs to the client, not to the designer who bought it. A studio buying for a client licenses it to that client; a second studio working for the same client does not need to buy again, and the same studio working for a different client does. The bands are published beside the price.

A face is bought once and kept

Buy a typeface and the licence is yours, with no renewal and nothing that expires. It covers desktop, web and application use for the company it was bought for.

The year

You can also buy a year: twelve months of everything we draw. It is a contract and not a subscription. One payment, no card kept, nothing that renews itself, and nothing to cancel because it ends on its own. The end date is stated before you pay and printed on the receipt. The year is here.

Anything you made during the year stays licensed forever. A brand, a product or a book you shipped inside your year never has to be thought about again, and nothing you published stops being legal when the year runs out. What ends is the right to take new files and to use the API.

Icons are free

Every icon pack, for anyone, for anything, with no licence to buy and no attribution asked for. The two restrictions below about training and resale are the only ones that apply to them.

A logo is sold once

When a mark is bought it comes off the wall and nobody else can have it. That is what is being sold: a logo two companies own is a logo neither owns.

Trials

Every face has a trial you can download from the catalogue with no account, no email and no form. A trial sets English and the licence sets every language, which is the difference between them. Use a trial to decide. Do not ship one.

What you may not do

Refunds

A file cannot be returned, so a delivered licence is not refunded. A real fault is a different thing and always has been: a broken or wrong file, a double charge, or a licence bought at the wrong band, which we correct rather than refund. Write to us and say what happened.

If something here does not fit

Publicly traded, very large, or doing something none of the above describes: write to us and we will answer with a licence rather than a form.

Drew Ink is a brand of Caelivon Studios LLC, Sacramento, California. This page is the licence. If a term ever changes, it changes here and it does not change what you already bought.
