"Physical modeling - making a whole song from just math"
"DREW INK foundry making sounds and music"
"And yes, drewink will start founding sounds and music also."
Why the method is the idea
Physical modelling is a real field and it is not sampling. A sound is produced by simulating the physics of the thing that makes it: a string under tension, air in a tube, a plate being struck. You do not store a recording of a cello. You describe a cello and then bow it.
So "a whole song from just math" is a literal description, not a slogan. If the instruments are equations, a piece can be a page of parameters rather than a folder of audio, and it can be played at any size, in any room, and altered by changing the physics rather than by editing a waveform. The string above is three numbers.
Why a foundry
A type foundry does not sell letters. It cuts a face, sets out how it behaves at every size and weight, and hands it over as something other people build with. A sound foundry is the same discipline pointed at hearing. Not a track, an instrument. Not a sample library, a thing that can be bowed.
What is not decided
Everything past this page. No scope and no surface. One sound exists, the string above, computed in the browser from physics when it is plucked, and anything more written here would be invention rather than record.
One precedent sets the pace. Drew Ink's other from-mathematics engine is a language, and its roadmap is one honest increment per working session, for months. Sound is likely the same shape.
