What it is made of

measured on this shelfthe ten digits of Drew Grotesk use NINE different advance widths, from 371 units for the 1 to 700 for the 2, and every one of the 22 non-monospaced families uses nine or ten: figures on this shelf are proportional, and a column of them will not line upread off all 84 files with fontTools on the fixed shelf, 2026-09-28. The 369 and 708 this row once carried were read on a build that was replaced before it shipped; the 394 and 705, and Drew Round's eight, belonged to the shelf before its refit of 2026-09-28
and the feature that would fix it is not therefont-variant-numeric: tabular-nums is inert on every face this house shipsthere is no GSUB table in ANY of the 84 files, so the OpenType feature that would carry this cannot be reached at all: it is absent, not merely unused
the one exception, and it is not a featureDrew Mono, whose digits are all 820 units because every glyph in it istabular by construction rather than by a table, which is why the house sets its figures in it
